Comments

Triggered while ascending the ridge above the pass. Cracking was continuous during the ascent and when the slope was steep enough, this small pocket released. The bed surface was the melt freeze crust from the prior warm days.

The feature was small with a gentle runout into some sparse trees. This was an area where the snow had been drifiting all morning. The crown tapered quickly on either side of the deepest point, which was approximately 12-15".
