Comments
We observed two recent avalanches in the Will's hill area. Size and failure planes are estimations. Both appeared to be similar size (D1.5-D2), aspect and elevation so I'm including them both here. One was out in the open bowl and one was just off the ridgeline and running into the trees. My guess is these avalanches occurred naturally yesterday afternoon 2/18 during heavy PI rates. There were tracks descending the ridge between Will's Hill and Main Willow so the one closer to the ridge could have been remote triggered by the skiers. From a distance it was difficult to tell the failure plane but other recent avalanche activity in the area failing on facets makes me think these failed on the January facets as well.
