Impressive results Friday from control work above alta. Flagstaff in particular had a well connected slide extending from the top bowl wrapping down below the knees and piled debris in the gully, apron and into the trees where sometimes there is a skinner. Most shots appeared to cause similar but smaller slides.
Saturdays mitigation made big spider web cracks but no slides in this zone.
Saturday night, the winds turned on and created some non reactive drifting, compressing and settling of the snow for Sunday. A brief clearing at sunrise showed new activity in upper cardiff fork.
At the bottom of binxs ridge in the Flagstaff gully, I came across a new avalanche. 2+' deep and 20' wide. Of note because it is the only spot in the Emma's arena where the full storm snow (thurs-sun) failed on the buried crust. There was a traversing track coming down from Emma 1 into the binxs gully that may have remotely triggered this from about 20' away.
