Snow Characteristics Comments

A bit of a rough ride this morning with frozen tracks and supportable conditions. On the north side of the compass the snow was a mix of some wind board and soft snow with the northwest winds blowing up slope keeping the snow a little cool. A slight change to an east aspect and the snow was taken a little morning sun and a few roller balls when the snow was disturbed.

Red Flags Comments
No alarming red flags in my travels, I left early afternoon and there could have been some minor wet snow issues with the afternoon heat.

Problem #1 Comments

Very minor wet snow problems and the northwest wind keeping the lid on things from getting too warm and unstable.

Comments

The snow line is moving up the road quite fast with mile marker 39 about the end of good pavement.

A few roller balls on the east side of Bald Mt., but nothing too widespread.

The snow conditions are holding up for the moment, with very minor wet snow problems.

It looks like the spring riding and turning is going to be short lived with so much of the rocky terrain now showing.

One noteworthy wet slide on the west side of Hayden Peak
